Aayan lives in a slum community of Bhiwandi, India, with his maternal grandparents. His father works in a welding company and earns around $97 monthly. Aayan’s mother does pearl beading to support the family. Both parents must work day and night to support the family, so he stays with his grandparents.

Aayan’s parents know the benefits of education and want their children to have a bright future. Aayan has never had the opportunity to attend any school before. He dreams of becoming a police inspector to help his family and community.
