Age 12

Akmal is the youngest of 7 children. He and his parents live in Bhiwandi, India. Akmal's mother works at home stringing beads and selling them, and his father has been bedridden for 9 years.

Akmal was attending a government school near his home before the lockdown started, but when schools closed, he dropped out. Once the lockdown was over, Akmal's family enrolled him at Udaan.

At Udaan, Akmal is brilliant in his studies and answers well in class. He wants to work and support his parents as soon as he can. Akmal needs a sponsor to help him achieve his dream of a good education and supporting his family one day.
