Age 8

Heena lives in the slum community of Bhiwandi with her parents and an elder brother. She is just 7 years old and has never been to school. Her father works in a loom factory for about $6 a day, and her mother stays home. Heena's family could not afford to enroll their children in school and pay rent, so when Udaan started, Heena's mother quickly enrolled her.

Heena wishes to become either a teacher or a doctor. If she becomes a teacher, she will teach children; if she becomes a doctor, she will give patients medicine to heal them. Heena needs a sponsor to support her education so that she can go on to achieve great things.
