Tabrej lives in the slums of Bhiwandi with his father, mother, sister, and stepbrother.

His father is currently unemployed, and the family is running on the earnings of his stepbrother. Tabrej dropped out of public school after experiencing a traumatic event, and this made him skeptical of joining Udaan. But with the encouragement of his parents and community social workers, he has started attending classes and enjoys studying and learning the lessons taught at Udaan. He participates in class well. Tabrej needs a sponsor to help him continue his studies at Udaan.
