Age 12

Tuba is 11 years old and lives with her parents and 4 elder sisters in the slum area of Bhiwandi.

Tuba's mother suffers from tuberculosis and needs medical treatment. Tuba's father works on and off in a small factory earning $5-$6 per day but was recently injured. This has caused financial hardship with mounting hospital bills for treatment.

Tuba and her sisters work to try to help the family financially, and they have no money to send her to school. At Udaan, Tuba has a passion for learning and is a hard worker. She is a good listener and likes to help others. Tuba needs a sponsor to help fulfill her dream of receiving a quality education.
