Age 15

Gulshera lives with her family in a rented house in Bhiwandi. Gulshera’s father works on a power loom in the textile industry, earning approximately $120 monthly. Gulshera’s mother cares for the family and does pearl beading on the side as she is able, but she has poor health and cannot work long hours. She earns approximately 50 cents a day.

Gulshera’s siblings help their mother in household work and pearl beading to support the family. After completing 9th grade, Gulshera discontinued her education but is now attending Udaan. Her dream is to become a teacher.
