Age 9

Jahid has completed the 2^nd grade and lives in Bhiwandi, India. He comes from a large family. His parents are currently separated, and this has taken a huge emotional toll on him and his siblings. His father struggles with alcoholism and does not financially support the family consistently in his job as a construction worker. His mother works stringing pearl beads earning very little.

Jahid and his 2 brothers are attending Udaan and they dream of a better life. Jahid’s goal is to become an Army officer and protect his nation.
