Age 12

Sabre lives with two of his aunts in the slums in Bhiwandi. His mother lives and works in the village as a laborer. His father left his mother and him when Sabre was 5 to marry another woman, and he has lived with his aunts ever since. His aunts work at home in the bead stringing business and are unmarried. Sabre has never been to school, but during a survey visit, community social workers encouraged his aunts to send him to Udaan to receive an education.

Sabre is learning to read and write at Udaan. His dream is to become a doctor and help his family and others in whatever way he can. Sabre needs a sponsor to provide for his basic education.
