Farhan’s father is an alcoholic and does not support the family, leaving his mother to earn a living as a seamstress making $2.40 per day. Because of their dire circumstances, the older siblings work small jobs to help support the family and only the younger children are able to attend school.

Farhan was enrolled in Udaan for a better future. He is an active learner and enjoys studying at Udaan. Farhan’s ambition is to become a police officer.
