Age 10

Ishtiyak lives in the slum area of Bhiwandi with his family. His father is the sole breadwinner to support their family of 7 and works as a loom worker earning around $85 monthly. They live in a rented house.

Due to their financial hardship, none of the children could continue their studies. Although unable to attend school himself, Ishtiyak’s older brother wished to educate all of his siblings.

Now enrolled in Udaan, Ishtiyak is a bright boy and delights in learning. His dream is to become a doctor and serve underprivileged communities.
