Salim lives in the slums of Bhiwandi. His father works as a tailor and his mother is a homemaker, caring for their 5 children. Salim attended private school in Bhiwandi until the 8th grade, but was forced to drop out due to finances.

Salim now attends school at Udaan and is eager to learn.
