Age 15

Saniya is a teenager, but until enrolling in Udaan recently, she had never attended school. She has had no basic education but is very eager to learn.

Saniya lives in Bhiwandi with 8 family members in a rented house. Her parents work hard to make ends meet as rent is expensive and their earnings are meager. Her father operates a loom and earns a daily wage of $6. Her mother works from home, stringing pearls and making less than $1.50 a day.

Saniya needs an Udaan sponsor to help with her education. She dreams of a better life and wants to one day become an artist.
