Age 8

Adaan lives with his family in the slum community of Bhiwandi, India. His father is a hired automobile driver who earns up to $6 per day; his mother is a homemaker caring for their 4 young children.

During the pandemic, they returned to their native village as his father had no work in the city. Now that they have returned to the city for his work, Adaan and his younger brother are attending school at Udaan.

Adaan is very excited to attend school for the first time. He wants to one day become an Army officer and fight for his country.
