Salma's family consists of 5 people, including her parents, younger sister, and uncle. Salma's father is a carpenter, and her mother is a homemaker. His daily wages are $2.50-3.50. Due to the financial burden of school, Salma's father had been unable to enroll Salma and her sister in any school until Udaan. Salma is a brilliant girl, and she likes to study.

She regularly attends classes at Udaan and has many dreams; she wants to experience life to the fullest and make her family proud and happy. Her main focus is to gain knowledge and learn as much as she can from the people around her in hopes of practicing law one day. However, Salma needs a sponsor to help her continue her education and chase her dream of practicing law.
